This series of multimedia works revolves around the relationship between two people who have never met, my late grandfather and myself. The series is inspired by an inexplicable feeling of sensing his presence at random times in my life, especially in locations where he used to work (Nicosia, Cyprus). This work is a correspondence between remnants of himself (his old workplaces) and remnants of myself (“remember-me-by” flowers that I have sewn) where there is a motion for a hopeful, perhaps naive connection, between two people who did not have the opportunity to meet during their lifetimes.
Video and sculptural installation at Wallack Galleries.
here are some flowers to remember me by tapestry exhibited in Gallery101 for thread counts.
