Exploring the concept of being in a situation where you do not know how to plan your next move, I decided to design a complex version of the oldest board game in history, called Go (or Baduk). A Very Complicated Game is designed in a way that it allows you to change its form; the pieces hold together with magnets and can be arranged differently.
A complementary piece to A Very Complicated Game, this series of five paintings illustrates the five matches that were played between the world champion player of Go, Lee Se Dol, and the Google intelligence named AlphaGo.
